The scoreboard that matters.

TheHumanPotentialIndex.com was initially conceived as a response to technocratic Humanity's hilariously tragic reliance on "the stock market" (and its various indexes) as a chief vital sign for how Humanity is doing.

The index health of the HPI is the conclusion of all its sub-indexes representing each area affecting our Human Potential, making the Human Potential Index a far superior indicator of how we are, how we've been, and most importantly, how much better we CAN, be.

Important things to measure. Welcome to the future.

How Do We Engage The Public in the effort to Improve Human Potential?

Leadership.

What needs to be facilitated for the public is a way for them to:

KNOW what matters (and comparatively how much things matter)

KNOW how to participate improving what matters for all people

KNOW how participating in the solution will benefit them personally

Basically, they need a scoreboard.

But not a stock price scoreboard… the real scoreboard.

The scoreboard that matters.

So leadership in world improvement has to do with aggregating and contextualizing all these knowings, and pairing them with the incentives that guide them toward better outcomes than merely benefiting the institutions built to survive in the status quo (not necessarily ideal environments for Humanity).

“Now we know! And KNOWING is half the battle.”

The Human Potential Index is just that - an issue aggregating platform that contextualizes issues, and rewards users in ways not even possible in other contexts.

Though our next step is to offer all the same OSINT data sources we use internally to guide our index ratings to our audience, geospatial representations of that data are critical to ensuring the deep connection with the data that we need to offer, in order to inspire change.

With the amount of domain expertise in the ESRI team, I’m certain there’s more to come, but at this moment, we need Maps & Money.

Request for Support Summary

We’ve identified 63 immediate use cases for the types of spatial data only ESRI can provide. For example:

  • In the SSD (Surplus & Service Distribution Index), we aim at the issue of Homelessness, and while stats and numbers charts help tremendously in communicating the issue to Humans, realtime maps that communicate exactly where identified homeless persons and populations are, on maps of areas familiar to you - that’s connection forming.
  • In the BDI (BioDiversity Index), we track how biodiversity is projected to be impacted by pending Human activity.
  • In The Water Index (TWI), we track
  • Before, During, and After, are all perfect times to address natural disasters. Real-Time spatial intelligence may be the most valuable to Humans in this way, as it is constantly relevant for us to protect and rescue ourselves from fires, storms, earthquakes and floods.

And more

Then in addition to maps, with ESRI being the most significant cartographic supplier of the digital age, I also can’t be shy about approaching you for more than maps - understanding you’ve probably got enough money to help us financially as well.

Here’s why we think that makes sense for you.

The way the HPI arrives at its index health scores is our crowning achievement for now, but our next step is to invite the public onto the platform in order to guide public behavior toward Human Potential advancement, and that takes visualization.

Why Support Us Now

As exciting as it would be to walk you through the roadmap for The Human Potential Index, I want to focus on how we can benefit each other right now, even at the beginning of the HPI’s journey.

Common Vision / My Favorite Quotes from Jack

"Once you digitize data, you can actually analyze patterns and relationships in geographic space - relationships between certain health patterns and air or water pollution, between plants and climate, soils, landscape."

This one let me know we’re simpatico.

"We tell stories with maps about global warming, biodiversity; we can design more livable cities, track the spread of epidemics. That makes a difference."

This one let me know that I’m not the only one who understands that data needs to be contextualized for the public in order to make a difference.

"One thing that has made us so successful is that we've never taken outside investment. That means we can concentrate on what our customers want - not what the stockholders or the VCs want."

This one let me know that he understands the main aversion passionate founders have for wanting to avoid relationships that are just about money. Though I have put in my due diligence in trying to do the responsible thing and “get funded” (I won Wilson Soncini’s Vator Splash contest, won their pro bono representation, spent the time in Silicon Valley, and found out the hard way, that…

Black founders currently win 1% of venture capital (for… reasons) but be that as it may, this is the part where I dox myself and reveal to you… I’m Black. Which generally comes with a lot of social implications - probably most profoundly when one is trying to gain support for a project with revolutionary impact.

That type of situation makes it especially memorable for a guy like me when an extended family member works for this revolutionary company called ESRI, and at every family gathering you hear him gushing about this amazing workplace where he’s treated well, doesn’t have to hide, and is respected. Not saying that to expose this extended family member, but to convey that I see as us having…

Common Ground

Common Function

Well not that you know I’m Black I guess I can start making Hip-Hop references.

The HPI is the WorldStar HipHop of the most pertinent cartographic data most critical to every Human.

To simply have ESRI’s products put into context for the general public in a compelling way will bring more awareness, meaning more use case discovery and industrial demand for ESRI products.

Common Audience

The Human Potential Index does not appeal to dogmatic, bigoted, data-averse audiences, but those seeking data, truth, progress, Justice, and inclusivity.

So far in prepping our rollout for the public inclusion phase, we’ve only got commitments from Cenk Uygur (The Young Turks), Sean Stone, The Unitarian Universalist Community & Native Land Pod, but the more to come will all be platforms that appeal to progressive, data-seeking audiences  - the best evangelists for ESRI products to their employers, educational institutions etc (potential licensees).

Our Proposed M&Ms Ask & Roadmap

Use of Funds

Phase 1

  • $50,000 Grant
  • ArcGIS Enterprise License

Then a 60 day period after which we return for a demonstration of how ArcGIS has been integrated into the HPI. If you like what we’ve done and see the value in the way the HPI contextualizes ESRI’s product, help us go…

Phase 2

  • $100,000 further
  • and continue our ArcGIS Enterprise License

It may be appropriate to the ESRI leadership to announce ESRI’s support for the HPI at that time but that would be for the company to decide. If they decide so, the HPI team is more than happy to participate in whatever media releases ESRI sees fit.

Support The Human Potential Index!

Simply having ESRI’s products put into context for the general public in a compelling way will bring more awareness, meaning more use case discovery and industrial demand for ESRI products. Still we hope that in addition to seeing that possibility, you would also see in us a group of aging refugees
